Netflix is working on a Gorillaz movie
Gorilla is one of the most beloved bands of the last century. Since its first appearance in 2001, this group has captivated the public, not only with its music, but as it is a virtual group. While this began as simply a way to make fun of the MTV generation, this eventually evolved into a narrative constant that was counted on each album, and in an animated series. Now, The next logical step will finally be a reality. That’s right, a movie is already on the way.
In a recent interview, Damon Albarn, co-founder of the band and the Voice of 2-D, revealed that an animated movie of Gorilla is already under development in Netflix, and is currently in the process of writing the script for The streaming platform.
Unfortunately, more information has not been revealed at the moment. Although one can not believe it, Gorilla’s band has extensive history that involves ghosts, demonizes, conspiracies and even a relationship with The girls’ superpower. Similarly, Jamie Hewlett, the main artist of the band, has experienced with various styles ranging from simple 2D, going through the 3D, up to a combination with Live Action.
We hope to have more information about this project in the future. On related topics, here you can see the collaboration that this band had with GTA V, and here with Pac-Man.
Editor’s note:
Gorilla is one of my favorite bands, and I can not wait to see what kind of movie is in development. Considering the extensive history of the group, we could well see an adaptation, but it is very sure that it is something completely new.
