The opening animation of the Nexus Scarlet is surreal and surprisingly beautiful

Scarlet Nexus has been marketed as strange and frightening since the beginning, even according to JRPG standards, and it is really seen in this new opening animation. Most JRPGs use their opening videos to show the characters, highlight the beauty of the decor or draw attention with a fantastic rendering fight. Scarlet Nexus does all this, but in a way that leaves the viewer feeling lightly on the edge – and they have not even shown us the monsters closely and personally. The video spends a lot of time lingering on the imaging of red ropes, falling or floating characters, and the two protagonists, Kasane Randall and Yuito Sumeragi, fighting. What we can do in the world is both dark and colorful, high-tech and fantastic at a time. Static, flashing lights and seep effects abound. It’s more than a bit confusing, but we can not wait to see more of what Scarlet Nexus has to offer.

SCARLET NEXUS - Game Opening Animation

The video presents the song “Dream in Drive” of the Japanese rock group The Oral Cigarettes and was animated by Sunrise Inc., the company brought us Gundam. This does not reveal much about the game we did not already know – at least nothing explicit – but it sounds with the facts we have already discovered in previous trailers. The red ropes are again developed, just like the Kasane link with them. She and Yuito are shown in conflict with each other. Yuito is also seen taking advantage of the power of Red Strings, visually represented by thick cables gushing from his back, while Kasane is not. This raises questions about why Kasane tries to kill Yuito if they share the same capacity. Does she know something he does not know?

The rest of the distribution is also presented briefly, although they are not very concentrated compared to the leads. Well, we will probably see them better in a future trailer. Crossed fingers.

Scarlet Nexus will be released on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on June 25, 2021.
