The creator of bandonado has confirmed that he contacted Konami, the creators and headlines of the Silent Hill rights. Since then, he was announced in April 2021, he has been involved in mystery and has become the center of numerous conspiracies. Many have cataloged it as a scam, although the developer maintains that he is creating a game that he plans to launch. Others have suggested that it is a secret project of Hideo Kojima. There were a number of relatively valid reasons why people think of abandado was a secret game of Hideo Kojima or possibly a new Silent Hill project, but all have been so discredited. That said, this conspiracy caught a lot of attention and probably failed in the game itself.

In a new interview on the podcast of Sacred Symbols (which is currently only available in Patreon), the Creator Hasan Kahraman declared that he never knew or spoke with Hideo Kojima, but he approached Konami. Kahraman declared that he approached Konami due to the massive spiral effect of the _bandoned, conspiracies and wanted to clarify things. “I approached them because I was stressed because people thought it was Silent Hill. They left hands, you are a small developer, you have never had a great audience, you have no experience. I approached Konami saying ‘You know what, it was never my intention’ and they were really great. ” Kahraman stated that Sony was also “quite great” and gave him the freedom to do what he pleases.

ABANDONADO seems to be a game largely independent and has no connection with any established IP. It remains to be seen if it will be inspired or not in games like Silent Hill, but it still seems that it could be an original and great horror game. Maybe someday Silent Hill returns on his own terms, but it does not seem to happen soon, for our dismay.
